The purpose of this book is to provide a succinct ,straightforward and up to date introduction to language teaching .the first part attempts to provide answers to basic question about the organisation of language : what is syntax ؟ what is phonology ؟ what is semantics ؟ in the second part the social and psycological roles of language are outlined , and in the third part , the longest , important issues in mother tongue , foreingn and second language teaching are discuussed together with other general issues such as course design and testing . extentive help in follow-up reading is also provided. |
