It gives a comprehensive overview of the powerful SimPowerSystems toolbox and demonstrates how it can be used to create and investigate models of both classic and modern electrotechnical systems.
Build from Circuit Elements and Blocks to System Models
Building from simple to more complex topics, the book helps readers better understand the principles, features, and detailed functions of various electrical systems, such as electrical drives, power electronics, and systems for production and distribution of electrical energy. The text begins by describing the models of the main circuit elements, which are used to create the full system model, and the measuring and control blocks. It then examines models of semiconductor devices used in power electronics as well as models of DC and AC motors. The final chapter discusses the simulation of power production and transmission systems, including hydraulic turbine, steam turbine, wind, and dieselElectrotechnical systems : simulation with Simulink" and SimPowerSystems [texte imprimé] / V. Langue : : AnglaisMots-clés : transformes apower supplies fuses disconnect switches relays solenoids pressure control motors safety troubleshooting Index. décimale : 629.8 Résumé : Reflecting the latest trends and practices from industry, the cutting-edge new ELECTRICAL CONTROLS FOR MACHINES, 7e delivers a thorough introduction to the range of technologies found in today's electrical machine controls. Completely up to date, circuit diagrams and the descriptions of the circuits illustrate a modern representation of the controls circuits. The text also offers expansive coverage of the power and control circuitry required to operate electrical machinery. While it discusses the trend away from relay control to PLC control, the text maintains solid coverage of relay circuits. Its emphasis on the critical importance of worker and equipment safety in industrial settings includes a detailed explanation of the risk assessment process and a safety relay circuit. In addition, the inclusion of international equipment specifications reflects the dramatic impact of globalization and integration of businesses on the way industries function.
Diane Lobsiger is an electrical instructor at Delta College in University Center, Michigan. She instructs students in the Skilled Trades-Electrician program, Wind Turbine Technology program, and Pre-Engineering program. In her prior work as a senior manufacturing controls engineer for 24 years, she gained a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in the design, troubleshooting, specification writing, and approval of machine controls systems. Her expertise includes relay control systems, programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, servo systems, adjustable frequency drives, and fluid power systems. She earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Auburn University and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Michigan State University. She recently obtained her Secondary Teaching Certification in mathematics and physics from Saginaw Valley State University. In her free time, she can usually be found fishing at her cabin.Note de contenu : Previous edition: published as by Kenneth B. Rexford and Peter R. Giuliani.
