Titre : Fundamentals of Computational Neuroscience Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Trappenberg Thomas P., Auteur Mention d'édition : 3 édition Editeur : London : Oxford University Press Année de publication : 2022 Importance : 412p. Présentation : ill. en coul. Format : 25x19cm. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-19-286936-4 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Neuroscience Index. décimale : 616.58-116.1 Résumé : Computational neuroscience is the theoretical study of the brain to
uncover the principles and mechanisms that guide the development,
organization, information processing, and mental functions of the nervous
system. Although not a new area, it is only recently that enough knowledge
has been gathered to establish computational neuroscience as a scientific
discipline in its own right. Given the complexity of the field, and its
increasing importance in progressing our understanding of how the brain
works, there has long been a need for an introductory text on what is often
assumed to be an impenetrable topic. The new edition of Fundamentals of
Computational Neuroscience build on the success and strengths of the
previous editions. It introduces the theoretical foundations of neuroscience
with a focus on the nature of information processing in the brain. The book
covers the introduction and motivation of simplified models of neurons that
are suitable for exploring information processing in large brain-like
networks. Additionally, it introduces several fundamental network
architectures and discusses their relevance for information processing in
the brain, giving some examples of models of higher-order cognitive
functions to demonstrate the advanced insight that can be gained with such
studies. Each chapter starts by introducing its topic with experimental facts
and conceptual questions related to the study of brain function. An
additional feature is the inclusion of simple Matlab programs that can be
used to explore many of the mechanisms explained in the book. An
accompanying webpage includes programs for download. The book will be the
essential text for anyone in the brain sciences who wants to get to grips
with this topic.

Titre : Introduction to Clinical Neurology Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Gelb Douglas J., Auteur Mention d'édition : 6 édition Editeur : London : Oxford University Press Année de publication : 2024 Importance : 558p. Présentation : ill. en coul. Format : 21x14cm.. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-19-777290-4 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Clinical Neurology Index. décimale : 616.58-117.1 Résumé : The sixth edition of Introduction to Clinical Neurology continues to
present a straightforward and systematic approach to diagnosing diseases of
the nervous system. Extensively revised to reflect medical advances and now
including supplementary tables for quick reference, this engaging textbook
explains the neurologic diseases and presenting symptoms that clinicians are
likely to encounter in daily practice. It also provides streamlined
summaries of clinically relevant nervous system pathways to help
non-neurologists deduce the site of dysfunction.
Each chapter begins with a set of clinical vignettes and associated
questions, which are discussed at the end of the chapter. The final chapter
provides twelve additional clinical vignettes and accompanying questions
intended to allow the reader to practice applying the principles of
localization and diagnostic reasoning covered in the first three chapters,
and to review some of the specific disorders covered throughout the book.

Titre : Pediatric Emergencies : A Practical, Clinical Guide Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Rose Emily, Auteur Editeur : London : Oxford University Press Année de publication : 2020 Importance : 703p. Présentation : ill. en coul. Format : 25x19cm. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-19-007387-9 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Pediatric Emergencies Index. décimale : 618.3-83.1 Résumé : Pediatric Emergencies comprehensively covers the practical management
of pediatric emergencies based on organ systems, with a strong emphasis on
clinical relevance. Each chapter explores the background, classic clinical
presentation, atypical clinical presentation, differential diagnosis,
diagnostic confirmation, treatment, clinical algorithm, disposition,
complications, and pitfalls of each topic. Clinical pearls included in each
chapter can be used at the bedside, and case examples allow readers to
compare and contrast pediatric complaints to adult presentations. More
clinically focused than a traditional textbook, and more comprehensive than
a typical clinical guide, Pediatric Emergencies is an ideal resource for
emergency providers of various backgrounds and training, including emergency
physicians, emergency medicine residents, pediatric emergency medicine
fellows, pediatricians, and other primary care providers who work in urgent
care settings.
