the true modlus of rupture obtained from the analysis explained before is less than the ordinary modulus of rupture by about 37%. this pointed out that when designers using the ordinary modulus of rupture as a limiting value of stress and using a certein factor of safety , they should consider a relatively high factor of safety to cover the deviation between the ordinary and the true modulus of rupture.
